ABOUT US (WHY THE HECK WE EXIST)
Damn Good Food.
From Scratch-made churros to house-pressed tortillas and queso made fresh all day long, we cook with a sense of pride and purpose that Mike instilled in Torchy's from the very beginning.
That's our commitment to quality and Damn Good Food.
The Origin Story.
I've always had a passion for food, and I knew that when I had my own place, we'd serve the food people deserve. Made with fresh ingredients, full of curated flavors, we pushed the boundaries of what people thought a taco could be. We weren't going to serve something you could get anywhere. We made you crave our food, that you can only get at Torchy's.
I brought my imagination to the kitchen, and we opened our first location, a food trailer in 2006. I believed in the tacos so much that I hustled around Austin, Texas on a red Vespa handing out samples to anyone I could.
It paid off and the word got out when people kept saying the same thing: "Damn, these tacos are good!"
So, we ran with it.
And Damn Good became our motto for our food, our culture, and how we treat people.
It's our standard for everything we do.
-Mike
Find Your Torchy'sOur Damn Good Culture.
At our core, we believe in our people. That started with Mike all the way back in the food trailer, and it's still baked into everything we do to this day. We don't just serve up Damn Good food, we build Damn Good careers, we help our Team Members when they are in need, and we strive to make work a fun place to be every day.
We're proud of the fact that so many team members have worked their way up through the ranks from the kitchen to corporate leadership. We believe the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, especially when people are empowered to be themselves and feel supported in what they do.
Community is everything.
We're more than just your favorite taco spot, we're also part of our communities.
From teacher lunches to school drives and local fundraisers, we show up where it matters. We partner with schools, nonprofits, shelters, and other organizations to support our communities year-round. Because Damn Good food should do Damn Good, too.
